Our Roots

In the fall of 2013, Ellen Walsh-Rosmann, a passionate advocate for local food systems, founded Farm Table Delivery (FTD) in Iowa. Ellen and her family were already running a growing CSA, but inspired by the need for a reliable market for local farmers and Shopper’s need to access to fresh, local foods in Harlan and surrounding areas, Ellen began sourcing a variety of products from local farmers.

Despite initial challenges, Ellen’s dedication and vision transformed Farm Table into a vital food hub, distributing locally sourced foods at wholesale prices throughout Western Iowa and Eastern Nebraska to the finest retailers, restaurants, schools, pantries, and households.

Now, as Farm Table transitions to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the board and its director can carry this mission and vision forward to support local agriculture and community health.

Delivering for Farm Table has allowed me to build relationships with local producers and share a sense of community and purpose. Developing personal connections has deepened my appreciation for the products we are able to provide. I have taken a lot of pride in strengthening relationships and building trust with each producer, restaurant, school, and food bank that we’ve been fortunate enough to cross paths with.
